Afghanistan Celebrates National Journalist Day with Emphasis on Unity and Islamic Values

KABUL (BNA): Afghanistan commemorated the 17th of March as National Journalist Day, honoring the contributions of journalists in the country.

The ceremony was primarily organized by the heads of information and culture departments and institutions that support journalists. It saw participation from central and local officials of the Islamic Emirate, media representatives, scholars, dignitaries, and journalists.

Speakers at the event, as reported by the Bakhtar News Agency, praised the nationwide security as a favorable environment for media activities in Afghanistan. Media officials at the ceremony expressed their commitment to journalistic activities within the framework of Islamic law, national interests, and the preservation of the Islamic system.

Islamic scholars and dignitaries at the event urged media outlets to work more than ever on fostering unity among different ethnicities and strengthening the foundations of the Islamic system.

In conclusion, officials from the information and culture departments reiterated the Islamic Emirate’s full support for media activities within the framework of Islamic law and national interests. They also emphasized the ongoing efforts to comprehensively address media challenges.
