Girls’ Artworks Displayed

Kabul (BNA) More than 50 artworks, mostly paintings done by girl artists of Ghulam Mohammad Maimanagi and female painters of the civil society, were displayed in Peace and Hope Park of the National Gallery, BNA reported Monday.
The exhibition was held at the sideline of campaign on prevention of violence against women, according to the agency.
Speaking on the occasion, Fazel Sancharaki, the deputy minister of information and culture on publications affairs said that the ministry has run various programs on prevention of violence against women, part of which was the currently run exhibition, in which the girls, with their arts, have featured the pain and suffering of women of the country.
“Any kinds of violence against women should be put an end and this should be changed into a culture that no girl or women should be violated in any of the institutions,” the deputy minister insisted.
Gener manager of the ministry of information and culture, Mahboba Saadat also spoke during the ceremony saying violence against women were not only physically heating and mistreating them, but women in the Afghan society were facing various violence, the agency quoted.
