Mehtarlam (BNA) As the anti-terror operation in Laghman Alishang District entered its third day, military officials announced the clearing of several villages from the Taliban.
The operation was launched at the request of villagers with the participation of hundreds of troops and with the support of the Air Force.
The Selab Army Corps in east of the country said in a statement that five areas in the Alishang district had been cleared from Taliban insurgents over the past two days.
The Alishang District has witnessed the presence and activity of terrorist groups, including the armed Taliban, for many years.
