Ceasefire Ends:

Sunday, July 01, 2018

Kabul (BNA) Unilateral ceasefire of state forces with armed oppositions ended and based on statement of president Ghani the security forces of the country can start their operations.
BNA military affairs analyst commenting on the issue writes Mohammad Ashraf Ghani President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in the third decade of Ramadan responding to the demands of religious scholars, intellectuals and people as general instructed the security and defense forces of the country to observe ceasefire from Ramadan 27th  until the 5th day of Eid. Although Taliban observed ceasefire only during the Eid days, but the state extended the ceasefire for another ten days in order to create trust among involved groups in war and peace and reconciliation find its way in the community.
The announcement of unilateral ceasefire and extending  it for  another ten days pursued differently by the people, politicians and international friends of the country.   Although the people warmly welcomed the presence of armed Taliban in the cities among their families and relatives revived the hopes that Taliban knowing the realities will desist from war and violence and choose a lawful and peaceful life.
Unfortunately contrary the hopes, Taliban speed up their attacks after the Eid days. This was a clear evident that there are certain circles among Taliban who used ceasefire for entering the cities and introducing themselves as a power.
In outside Afghanistan the international friends considered observing of ceasefire by Taliban as sign of Pakistan’s cooperation and acquired certain advantages in international arena.
Politicians and military experts believe that the announcement of ceasefire and observing it by Afghan government once again proved that Afghan authorities are committed to peace while armed Taliban used the ceasefire for further military preparation and influence in the cities. Pakistan used the observing ceasefire during the Eid days by Taliban as a means of political propagations.  Pakistan demonstrated to America, Afghanistan and western counties, that this is that country that has the control of Taliban, guide and command them. Therefore, Pakistan should not be ignored in any related issues and in any development the interests of it should be considered.
Advantaging Pakistan from the process as propagation means and misusing of Taliban from ceasefire for evil goals proved that there is no an evident to rely on Taliban for ensuring peace in the country.
The political experts say that Taliban from the enforcement of ceasefire to end of it did not want or could not use the opportunity because they have no will of their own.
According to military experts defending has always been costly for the state while crashing and beating Taliban in battle fields is more effective than giving political advantages to the group who want war and rarely think about Islam and humanity.
