Women and Children Main Victims of Israel’s Terror Campaign in Gaza

KABUL (BNA): Women and children are the main victims of Israel’s ongoing offensive in Gaza, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. According to reports, 70% of Palestinian casualties in Israel’s attacks on Gaza are women and children.

Over a period of more than 70 days, nearly 19,000 people have lost their lives due to Israeli bombings and missile strikes, with an additional 51,000, mostly women and children, sustaining injuries. More than 7,000 people are reported missing.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health states that 300 healthcare workers, 86 journalists, 135 United Nations staff, and 35 civil defense personnel have also lost their lives during the ongoing battle.

Additionally, only 8 out of 36 Gaza hospitals are partially operational, leading to a 206% increase in the occupancy rate for hospitalized patients and a 250% increase for outpatient cases.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization expresses severe concern about the Israeli military’s attack on a fully equipped Gaza hospital.

The WHO Director-General, Tedros Ghebreyesus, notes that the assault killed at least 8 patients and rendered the hospital inoperative.

The organization is also seeking information about its staff members detained by Israel.
Ghebreyesus reveals that many patients are forced to leave hospitals alone, risking their lives and safety.

On a different note, Pope Francis, the leader of the world’s Catholics, accuses Israel of using “terror tactics” in Gaza.

He expresses disgust over the killing of two Christian women who sought refuge in a church in Gaza, stating, I continue to hear distressing and horrifying news from Gaza.
Unarmed civilians are the target of bombings and gunfire.
