Kabul (BNA) The Afghan MoD authorities said that aimed at uprooting and suppressing armed insurgents, ANSF Operation Shafaq-2 is successfully going on and insurgents have sustained heavy causalities as their over 100 armed men have been eliminated and a number of their strongholds destroyed.
At the same time, the civil society activists have criticized ANSF operations against insurgents insufficient said that terrorists target innocent civilians and according to law, the government is obliged for civilians protection. The ANSF ongoing Operation Shafaq-2 has been launched in those provinces in which insurgents carryout attack and target them including Helmand, Herat, Farah, Ghor as well as Nangarhar, Paktia and Kunduz. The Afghan civil activists believe that the government has failed to prevent insurgents increasing attacks on civilians and religious rites and if this situation continues, people would face hardships. The MoD says that armed insurgents cannot confront directly the ANSF and have recently amended their strategy and target innocent civilians and want to create fear and horror among people. The MoD emphasizes that his year they would exterminate armed insurgents and would disable them to raise again.
Although the armed terrorists have not been sympathetic on civilians and have always attacked them but it has been said that weak management, corruption and lack of coordination in ANSF leadership have caused insurgents to carryout subversive activities and victimized innocent people. So the government should pick qualified, eligible, committed and honest leaders at the top of ANSF ranks who would be able to prevent influence of enemies into the ANSF. The ANSF were previously criticized for lack of essential coordination that caused enemies to take advantage of this situation and fan up insecurity in the country. But now it has been said that ANSF coordination has improved and they launch all operations in close cooperation. But the ANSF particularly Air Forces lack modern equipment and investment in improvement of air forces is an urgent need. Because in general, particularly in Helmand and Urozgan provinces, the AAF have proven their competence and effectiveness and shown to the world community that if investment is made upon them, they would clearly manage to remove internal and external threats. The armed terrorists did their best to occupy or collapse some big cities and establish their sanctuaries but not only didn’t achieve this goal but also sustained heavy causalities. At the moment ANSF led counter-insurgents Operation Shafaq-2 is going on in Paktia, Kunduz and Nangarhar and other areas and ANSF are eliminating insurgents everywhere. Beside that the Afghan government encourages the insurgents to attend peace talks table.
