Faizabad City (BNA) About 17 Afghan National Army soldiers were martyred following Taliban attack in northern Badakhshan province last night.
The security personnel have been targeted and martyred by Taliban militants in their checkpoint in Shakh Wolwel region, Wardoj district of the province,
Abdullah Naji Nazari member of provincial council in Badakhshan told BNA correspondent, 17 Afghan National Army personnel have lost their lives during the attack.
Nazari, while confirmed the killing of 12 Taliban militants in the attack said, several Pakistani rebels are among the dead.
The exact number of injured and soldiers those captured by Taliban is not clear yet.
Amam Ali Azizi director of oppressive in police chief of Badakhshan confirmed Taliban attack on Afghan National Army’s checkpoint in the mentioned area, but didn’t give more information about casualties.
