We Concentrate On Continued Projects, Not On Small Ones: President Ghani

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani in meeting with the delegation of entity named “East and West” here in Arg shared his view with them in regard to changing Afghanistan into connecting point of the region.
The president said that the work for TAPI project will begin in December this year, saying Afghanistan government focuses on continued projects not on the small ones. The transport sector had made 22 percent of GDP during the presence of international troops in the country and efforts are underway to increase the income. President Ghani also said that works are underway with countries in the region on infrastructures including extension of railway network, pipeline, optic fiber and highways.   The international community has committed huge fund for Afghanistan and for its expenditure the government needs to increase its capacity, the president said. He also noted that there is enough money in Afghanistan banks and the government has been trying to create system to lend entrepreneurs.   Lack of coordination among countries in the region would damage all the countries, the president asserted. Supporting the viewpoints of the president, the entity “East and West” assured its cooperation with the government of Afghanistan to achieve the goals set for.
