Proposal Of FEFA On Role Of Media In Improving Election Order Discussed

Kabul (BNA) The proposal of free and just election of Afghanistan was discussed by the media in charges. 
At the meeting Jandad Speenghar in charge of the foundation explained the proposal of FEFA on the role of private and free media in improving the election order in the country and said that “The objective of this program is bringing of reform in election order and we believe that the role of the press in this sphere is positive and effective. 
He expressed concern that the future election of Afghanistan would be faced with challenges and transparency will be questioned. 
He added that the media had its role in the past two elections and we want that this role should be further strengthened in the future elections and we want that the media should supervise the election process. 
Abdul Hamid Mubarez chairman of national journalists union of Afghanistan stressed that regrettably the media in the past nine years could not reflect the democratic culture to the people so there is need for the press and the media in the country take further bold steps as the future elections present another ordeal before the press of the country. 
He added that till the minds and the will of the people are not attracted towards transparency of elections we can never be successful to resemble democracy and here the role of the media becomes a necessity so they assist awareness of the people. 
Sedequllah Tuhaidi head of the Nai foundation called election process a very difficult process and said that every sphere can be reformed and added that the media’s role should better and he called election process a national process and said that there is need for working on a mechanism and its performance be reviewed. 
He noted that Nai is prepared to train journalist in awareness of the election law. 
Nor Mohammad spokesperson of election commission, Nazari Peryani editor of Mandegar, Mir Haidar editor of Armane Milli, Khepulwak Safi head of Shamshad TV, Najiba Ayubi deputy head of the journalists union and some others also expressed views on the issue and reforms in election law and the role of the press in reflecting election process.
