CM Discusses Issues on Agenda

Kabul (BNA) Chaired by the country’s National Unity Government Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, the council of ministers discussed a number of issues on agenda among them dispatching of the first Afghan shipment to India via the Iranian Chabahar Port, peace process and election, a statement from the CE office said Monday.
The CE called successfully departure of the Afghan shipment to India a great achievement of the country and that the move would directly lay positive impact on the economic situation of Nimruz province, said the statement.
About peace talks and convening the traditional Loya Jirga, the Chief Executive of the National Unity Government (NUG) said the combination of the peace negotiators from various political and national institutions can negate the Taliban pretext over peace talks with the government, and added that conferring was needed on the country’s big national issues and that the people welcome any step taken for peace restoration in the country. Dr. Abdullah asked for soon start of the selection the members of both electoral commissions and the Independent Human Rights Commission and said uncertainty in the human rights commission was not in the interest of the country.
Touching on the recent UNAMA’s report about civilians casualties in Afghanistan over the past year, the CE, however acknowledged some failure from the country’s security forces about the civilians’ life during military operations, but strongly blamed the Taliban and other terrorist groups for the past year’s highly civilian death in the country, the statement added. The CE asked the related organs for paying serious attention in this field. Dr. Abdullah congratulated victory of the country’s cricket team against Ireland, the statement continued. Meanwhile, he wished success to Massoud Andarabi for his new post as minister of interior and said he was eligible for the position and would do more for the security of the country, according to the statement.
The CE also said that eligible students should be introduced to the scholarship process, through a committee led by the CE first deputy and membership of the ministry of education, higher education, foreign affairs, admin of martyrs and disabled, after seriously assessing the issues.
