Kabul (BNA) Heavy clashes erupting between Taliban fighters and Afghan security forces in Nanci district, northern Badakhshan province.
The clashes has started when Taliban members stormed on Afghan security forces’ checkpoints.
Senior commander of Afghan national army in the north of the country told BNA correspondent, Taliban militants sustained heavy losses during the conflicts, but the exact number is not clear yet.
Meanwhile, based on reports several villages have collapsed by Taliban, but local officials rejected the reports.
Nanci district is one of five Darwazha districts in Badakhshan province that located close to Amu River.
Until the district controlled by Afghan security forces and there were no presence of Taliban fighters.
