KABUL (BNA): Russian President Vladimir Putin announced yesterday that he will run for the presidential elections of 2024, which will be his fifth time seeking the highest office in the country.
He made this announcement at the Kremlin Palace, where he awarded medals to the soldiers who participated in the military operations in Ukraine.
Putin’s current presidential term will end on May 7, 2024, and the next election is scheduled for March 17. Putin has been ruling Russia as president and prime minister for the past 24 years.
The presidential elections in Russia are taking place amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Putin has insisted on continuing these operations until the goals of his country are achieved.
