Kabul (BNA) Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in a meeting with Senate chairman and a number of senators discussed current situation of the country.
In the meeting, senators first raised their questions related to closing doors of high peace council and choosing a clear policy and relations with Pakistan and while stressing on solution of internal problems among leaders of national unity government said attention should be paid to professional capabilities in appointments. Punishments and rewards in affairs, paying attention to civil and military sectors of provinces and rooting out corruption were other demands of the senators. Expressing concern over deteriorating security situation in the country, senators asked the country’s chief executive for addressing problems of the people and provinces. After hearing the senators’ demands, the country’s chief executive said that he was engaged in solution of problems of the people nothing else, adding that Afghanistan was facing with various problems and the such problems would be ended when Afghans seriously kept their unity because a united Afghanistan was beneficial to all. Dr. Abdullah Abdullah further said that wasting time on minor issues would create other problems in the country, adding that working together was the only way to go forward. According to another report, the country’s chief executive met the other day with a number of representatives of Ghazni people in parliament and elders and dignitaries of the province here in Kabul.
