New Record; Afghanistan Reports 628 New Cases of COVID-19, 24 Deaths

Kabul (BNA) Out of 2,647 samples of COVID-19 tested the Afghanistan Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) reported 628 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.

According to BNA report, the ministry reported 24 deaths and 260 recoveries from COVID-19 in the same period.

Based on provinces, the new cases reported in Kabul (178), Herat (13), Kandahar (89), Balkh (34), Nangarhar (38), Takhar (14), Baghlan (14), Kunduz (28), Nimroz (15), Paktia (29), Faryab (1), Parwan (38), Bamiyan (20), Maidan Wardak (32), Badakhshan (4), Kapisa (21), Ghazni (7), Laghman (16), Panjshir (19), Uruzgan (5), Ghor (2), Khost (1), Farah (5) and Sar-e-Pul (5).

Meanwhile, the deaths were reported in provinces of Kabul (9), Herat (2), Kandahar (1), Balkh (2), Nangarhar (2), Kunduz (1), Paktia (1), Helmand (1), Kapisa (1), Ghazni (1), Laghman (1) and Farah (2).

The ministry says the cumulative total of known COVID-19 cases is 66,903, the total number of reported deaths is 2,836 and the total number of recoveries is 56,295.

According to world meters, so far 449,103 samples have been tested in government centers and there are 7,772 known active COVID-19 cases in the country.

The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 3,463,996 and the number of known global coronavirus cases is 167,219,723, according to Johns Hopkins University.
