ANSF upholds complete security responsibility of Afghanistan from Today, STC

Kabul (BNA)   Meeting of joint  board of security transition  held in which matters related to the 5th and final round of security transition process from international forces to the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) came under discussions and officials of security transition commission announced that in few days’ time country wide security responsibility of Afghanistan would be shouldered by the Afghan security institutions which is a turning point in the history of Afghanistan for its political stability.
Evaluating implication of the transition process, Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai chairman of security transition commission expressed hope over war potentials of Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) and said that in cooperation of world community our armed services have attained professional military training over the past ten years and they are fully capable to provide countrywide security to the Afghan nation. Addressing Afghan security officials, head of the security transition commission said that despite withdraw of thousands of foreign troops from Afghanistan (Afghan forces) not allowed security vacuum and it strongly represents war capabilities of Afghan security institutions. Meanwhile, officials of national ministry of defense have warmly welcome the 5th and final round of security transition process from international troops to the Afghan security institutions and have demanded from international community mainly the US and allies of Afghanistan to focus on providing adequate military equipment to Afghan troops so that these force be able to accomplish their military operations effectively by their own in the future following foreign troops evacuations. Commenting on the topic, defense minister Bismillah Muhammadi said that ANSF have received sufficient military trainings and they were fully capable to take security responsibility of the country and expressed reservation that if sufficient military equipment weren’t provided to our border police there could be some security challenges alongside the insecure areas bordering neighboring Pakistani. Defense minister also urged that casualties among our armed forces were also increased following previous rounds of security transition process and currently ANSF provides security coverage to nearly 80% of the overall territory of the country and it would reach to 100% following the completion of 5th and final phase of security transition process from international process from international troops to the Afghan security institutions. At the meantime , officials of ministry of interior affairs of Afghanistan have asked the Afghan people not to be concerned of foreign troops withdraw in 2014 , because the Afghan armed services were fully prepared to provide better security to national of the country . Commenting on the topic, Sidiq Sidiqi, a spokesman to the ministry of interior affairs reiterate that Afghan forces including national police have attained enough military capability to overcome security threats be their own following foreign troops vacuum and currently Afghan armed forces are taking security responsibilities of nearly 85% of the overall territory of the country and added that Afghan people strongly welcome and support foreign troops withdraw. Talking on the topic, retired military Gen: Noorulhaq Ulomi told that ANSF is in dire need of latest technology and military weapons following foreign troop’s pullout in order to enable Afghan security institutions to combat threats emerging from terrorism and insurgency effectively after the withdraw of international troops from the country in 2014 and allies of Afghanistan particularly the US should honor all commitments made to ANSF and mobilize them with latest weaponries including logistic and cargo airplanes and helicopters to protect achievement of the previous decade. At the meantime, national of the country express diverse views regarding the security transition process and emphasize that international community mainly those nations with whom Afghanistan has forged strategic cooperation partnership agreements should provide sufficient military equipment to Afghan national security forces so that Afghan troops be able to accomplish tasks effectively following foreign troops callback in 2014. Talking on the matter, military officer Sakhi Dad Khan said that Afghanistan has always been the victim of foreign interference and with consideration of threat that emerge for Afghanistan from beyond its borders , international community should provide adequate weaponries , arms and ammunitions to Afghan forces to suppress the enemy effectively . This came after a decade long presence of NATO and the US in Afghanistan, ANSF still confront insufficient military weaponries.
