Rahman Baba Spring Poetry Held in Kabul

Kabul (BNA) The spring poetry of Rahman Baba held here the other day with President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani’s message readout by the Minister of Border and Tribal affairs Gulab Mangal, saying that holding of poetry festival with the name of Rahman Baba would not only boost the literary custom and tradition, but also would commemorate such a great poet of the country.
Hinting to Rahman Baba poetry festival, the president in his message said that the ceremony on this occasion is being held since 20th century, adding that Rahman Baba’s poems are the most glorious page of the country’s contemporary history and valuable tradition.
Later, the Minister of Borders and Tribal Affairs spoke related to the issue, saying that spring poetry festival of Rahman Baba is one of the famous and historical literary festivals in the country which is being celebrated annually by the MoBTA.
“This festival was forgotten due to uncertain reasons, but this year we have been celebrating it with presence of the country’s culturists, poets and writers”, Mangal added.
Minister of Information and Culture Abdul Bari Jahani addressing the ceremony said, that holding of such programs are the duties of the MoIC, thanking the MoBTA for their intuitive.
Minister of Information and Culture added that holding of such events would help bolster the culture and literature of the country, saying any initiative in this field is commendable, Minister Jahani also readout one of his poems at the end of the ceremony. At the end, Aziz Asooda, Ghafoor Liwal, Abdul Qader Qalatwal and a number of the country’s poet also readout their poems.
