The German Aid for Afghan Children “GAAC” institution, Assists Athletes

KABUL (BNA) The German aid for Afghan Children (GAAC) assisted 100 athletes with food and sportswear.

According to BNA, Nazar Mohammad Mutmaeen, head of the National Olympic Committee of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, thanked in the distribution ceremony the German aid for Children, for its assistance to the athletes and said: it’s a good step towards supporting athletes, today GAAC assisted hundreds of athletes.

He pleaded for the institution’s continued assistance to all Afghan athletes.

Then Engineer Mohammad Alam Shehab, the head of the German aid for Afghan Children, said, the institution is working to help Afghanistan in various fields, and today we are witnessing the distribution of foodstuffs and sports clothes for Afghan sports champs, which has been aided by the German people.

Addressing the athletes, he said, “You have won many honors for Afghanistan through sports, and we intend to continue this assistance and try to distribute sportswear to other athletes in the future.”

Afterwards, Qari Abdul Mateen Rahimzai, Director of Refugee and Repatriation of Kabul, said, “we support the athletes and their problems will be taken care of.

He thanked the German aid for its assistance to Afghan children and said he hoped the institution would continue to help athletes.

Mustafa Shehab, Deputy Director of the German aid for Afghan Children, provides details about the institution’s assistance and programs and said: “The German aid for Afghan Children is a charity organization and is funded by the German people and in the fields of education and humanitarian aid.” It operates friendly in Afghanistan, distributing food to 1,000 needy families every week and distributing aid to 20,000 needy families over a six-month of time.

He described the distribution of aid today as support for sports and athletes, saying ” the aids, contains of flour, cooking oil, tea, sugar, rice and a package of sportswear.”

Dad Mohammad, head of information and public awareness at the National Olympic Committee, said “In the past few days, we have distributed $250 to 1,000 athletes, and we plan to distribute the same amount to another 1,000,” adding he.

Meanwhile, Mir Abdul Ghafoor, the coach of the national weightlifting federation, thanked the German aid for the distribution of aid. He mentioned that a few days back, he also received $250 in aid.
