Karim Khalili Addressed Shanghai Leaders Conference

Kabul (BNA) Mohammad Karim Khalili Second Vice-President addressed the conference of leaders of Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Kyrgyzstan.
The meeting of the organization held last Wednesday in Kyrgyzstan was participated by prime ministers of China, Russia and other leaders of original members of the organization as well the observer member countries.
The leaders at this conference express their viewpoints in transport, energy, food security and expansion of communication services.
Khalili representing the government of Afghanistan attended the meeting as observer and addressed the conference meeting.
He appreciated the member countries of the organization in supporting membership of Afghanistan at this organization and considered the role of this organization in the struggle against terrorism, extremism and attaining to peace and sustainable expansion as very important.
Touching on the concerns shown by some world media in respect to the withdrawal of international forces from Afghanistan and the presidential elections in 2014 he said that I reiterate that Afghanistan will never return to the dark past.
The aspirations and the will of the general populace of the people on the side of the government of Afghanistan and the founders of the political order in Afghanistan will never permit that once again this country become the site for domestic differences or become the source of insurgency.
He considered the economic situation in Afghanistan as improving and that some goods of Afghanistan is competing the world and the High Economic Council of Afghanistan led by the president and the new economic police of the Afghan government supporting the domestic industrial products gives hope that these will pave ground for economic self-sufficiency.
Khalili and his accompanying delegation returned home last Wednesday.
He was accompanied at this visit by deputy minister of private sector of commerce and industry ministry, economic advisor of the president and some other government authorities.
