Kabul (BNA) Hekmat Khalil Karzai, Deputy Foreign Minister on Political Affairs met yesterday with UN deputy secretary on political affairs Jeffrey Feltman here in Kabul.
In the meeting, Karzai while praising UN for its cooperation with Afghanistan and pointing to security and political situation of the country appreciated the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) for their efforts and woks, asking the UN and the international community for overall cooperation with them.
Khalil Karzai considered that the only effective way for maintaining peace and stability and counter security threats in Afghanistan was the in the support and cooperation of the international community with the county’s security forces.
Following, UN deputy secretary by praising the National Unity Government of Afghanistan for its efforts towards maintaining peace and stability, strengthening of trust and cooperation with neighboring and regional countries and counter security threats assured of the UN continued support and cooperation with Afghanistan government.
In the meeting, both sides also discussed results of 5th Heart of Asia/ Istanbul Conference, continuation of joint efforts for strengthening regional cooperation, peace and other related issues.
