Decade Long Achievements To Be Safeguarded: General Carter

Wednesday, April 03, 2013
Kabul (BNA) The deputy commander of NATO-led ISAF forces in Afghanistan General Yank Carter has warned that reducing troops especially the British forces would undermine the progress made over the past decade.
He gave this warning while Afghan security forces taking over the security responsibilities from NATO-led coalition forces by the end of 2014.
Meantime, a security analyst Abdul Wahid Taqat said that NATO-led force including the British troops have little achievements, saying producing poppy and its trafficking have increased in the presence of the foreign troops.
He also noted that the government is a failed state, terrorists are active and corruption is rampant in spite of the presence of NATO-led force over the past 10 years in Afghanistan.
