President Evaluates Eastern Provinces’ Security Situations

Kabul (BNA) President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, at the head of a high level delegation, paid a visit to the eastern province of Nangarhar to evaluate the security situation in the eastern provinces of the country, his office said the other day.
The president said six billion dollars would be spent over the next four years to strengthen the country’s air force, according to a statement from his office. While visiting the Afghan National Army’s 201 Selab Military Corps base, the president said with by blesses of the country’s security forces the people of Afghanistan could successfully enjoy the Eid festival this year.
The president met with the corps officials and said after the United States announced its new strategy on Afghanistan, the NATO Resolute Support mission had increased its support to the Afghan forces. Ghani said the RS mission would further increase its support to the Afghan security forces. The president also visited provincial hospital and enquired the situation of the patients and those wounded in the conflict with the armed oppositions.  The president was accompanied by a high level delegation and the visit was aimed at evaluating the security situation in the eastern zone  Nangarhar, Laghman, Kunar and Nuristan provinces.
