Floods Killed 23 People in the Country

KABUL (BNA) Officials of the Ministry of Disaster Management said that floods have killed 23 people in the country in the last two days.

Mawlawi Mohammad Naseem Haqqani an official for the Ministry says that in the last two days, 23 people were killed and 20 others were injured in recent floods in 10 provinces of the country.

The floods hit Maidan Wardak, Paktia, Nangarhar, Nuristan, Paktika, Parwan, Panjsher, and three other provinces, which caused financial losses, he added.

He said in the sites of the incident, rescue teams of the ministry are busy assisting.

Some subways have been destroyed and closed, but efforts are underway to restore and open them, he said.

Haqqani says that they have spoken with aid agencies in the mentioned provinces and the officials of these agencies have promised to assist the flood victims.

Meanwhile, the affected families are called for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and aid organization assistance.
