Ministry of Refugees and Repatriates Facilitates Return of Afghan Migrants from Iran

 

KABUL (BNA): The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation announced the return of over a thousand Afghan migrants from Iran, both voluntarily and forcibly expelled.

According to a statement from this Ministry, 1,379 migrants residing in Iran returned to their country via the Islam Qala-Herat border crossing.

According to Border Police commander of Islam Qala, from among the mentioned individuals, including families and singles, 308 people needed identification and assistance, and they received food and non-food items at the International Organization for Migration office.

Still, twenty-one orphaned children were referred to the war-affected children’s institution for the identification of their families.

A total of 70,000 Afghanis were allocated for 7 families, and for 42 individuals were provided SIM cards for free.
