Kabul (BNA) The discussion on strengthening and equipping of Afghan Air Forces is one of the key discussions for capacity building of ANSF which is going on since many years in the country’s media programs. This discussion is important because war on terror in geography like Afghanistan is seriously in need of air supports during operations as well as transport and logistics operations behind the front lines and transferring of soldiers, equipment and wounded personnel. Without availability of a strong and reliable air forces, Afghanistan will face certain problems, for this reason, this discussion has always been at the headlines of news on ANA, ANP structure since long times. Fortunately essential attention has been invited in recent years in this sector and now Afghanistan owns the air force corps. The MoD has already finalized organization of the air crops and has taken simultaneous steps for recruitment of relevant man power to this corps and considerable number of air forces officers have been trained inside and outside the country. This air corps has recently received a number of airplanes that can be every effective in empowerment and capacity building of ANSF in war on terror. Comprehensively realizing the outstanding and effective role of air forces in war on terror and in improvement of ANSF in the battlefields, the Afghan government has totally been aware of this issue and has put restructuring of air forces, its equipping and improvement at the top of its military doctrine and has made all sided efforts to further equip and arm this section more than before.
In a ceremony organized by MoD to display aircraft flights, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, appreciating the epics and braveries of air forces pilots and employees, said their efforts, braveries, courage and honest services will be inserted in the history with golden lines. “Today is the day of air forces strengthening” the president said. He thanked the air forces engineers and pilots who defend the country’s independence and dignity. The president added that security personnel are the connecting point and pride of all Afghan national and investment should take place on them. “The air forces fly everywhere to suppress the enemies and they are useful in support of ground security forces. You flew with airplanes to which no one trusted on every dessert, mountain and valley” he added. As the president has already emphasized that combat capacity building of ANSF in war on terror is in urgent need of attention of the world community and it requires quick implementation of the global Afghan partners on equipment of air forces that the needed airplanes specially jetfighters should be put at its disposal. So the insurgents’ advancement must be prevented affectively in the year ahead that has been predicated as a difficult year.
