Construction of Second Phase of Khaf-Herat Railway Set to Commence

KABUL (BNA) The executive director of Gamma Construction Company, Ahmad Shakib Samizi, announced the commencement of the second phase of the fourth section of the Khaf-Herat railway project.

The project, which is being implemented by Gamma Construction Company in collaboration with the Afghan Railway Administration, is poised to transform trade connectivity and create employment opportunities for thousands of individuals.

The agreement for the construction of the Khaf-Herat railway was signed between the Afghan Railway Administration and the Gamma Group International Company. With the presence of officials from the Islamic Emirate, practical work on the railway will soon begin, marking a significant milestone for the country’s economic growth.

The Gamma Group, with technical cooperation from Russian Federal Railway experts, will spearhead the construction efforts. This collaboration brings together a wealth of expertise and experience to ensure the successful completion of the railway.

The operation of the Khaf-Herat railway is expected to accelerate and facilitate trade, while reducing transit costs. Its connection to the railway networks of Iran and Europe will open up new avenues for commerce and bolster regional integration. Additionally, the railway will alleviate congestion at the Islam Qala border crossing, streamlining the movement of goods and people.
