President Ghani Chairs NSC Session

Kabul (BNA) Presided over by Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, National Security Council (NSC) session was held to overall review recent incident of beheading innocent civilians in Zabul province.
In the session, President Ghani once again extended his deep condolence and sympathy to the martyred families, considering the act as clear crime against humanity. Besides, the country’s President tasked a delegation comprised of Second Vice President Sarwar Danesh, Chief Executive Second Deputy Mohammad Muhaqiq, minister of borders and tribal affairs Mohammad Gulab Mangal and minister of transport and civil aviation Mohammadullah Batash to pay a visit to Ghazni to participate in burying ceremony of the martyrs and expressing sympathy of the country’s President. Measures followed by the government in particular for releasing our countrymen during the period they were in captivity were discussed and reviewed. President Ghani and members of the country’s NSC were regularly and closely pursuing developing work of operation launched for releasing our citizens. National security personnel by increasing military pressure on terrorist groups were able to release our 19 countrymen from captivity in an operation. Meanwhile, NDS personnel in a separate operation yesterday released our 8 countrymen including two women, a youngster and five men from kidnappers’ captivity. Followed by recent dreadful incident of the terrorist group, President Ghani instructed relevant officials to review works of personnel involved in releasing of our countrymen. Meanwhile, the country’s President ordered security organs to adopt all necessary measures in connection with identification, arresting and punishment of perpetrators of the crime.
