Fruit Production Increased This Year

Mazar-e-Sharif (BNA) Fruit crop has increased this year in northern Balkh province.
Officials of agriculture and livestock department of Balkh say, the production of fresh fruit has been increased 20 percent than the past years in the province.
Kateb Shams head of agriculture and livestock said BNA, establishment of 6,000 fresh fruit gardens and adequate climate are the main reasons behind the increasing of fresh fruits in the province.
This year guardians have collected 11,000 tons fresh fruits including pomegranate, grapes, apple, apricot and other fresh fruits, Shams added.
According to the source, the fruit corps of the province mostly exported in central Asian countries such as Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Russia and India.
