Afghanistan Modern Literature Festival Held In Jalalabad

Kabul (BNA) Jalalabad city hosted on Wednesday the biggest festival on Afghanistan modern literature.
The festival titled ‘Literature and Peace’ was held by Guetta Institute in Jalalabad city with participation of hundreds of writers, poets and researchers of language and literature from across the country.
The festival aimed at strengthening of literal activities of poets, writers and researchers and bringing peace through literature in Afghanistan.
Hamid Karzai, president of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in a message considered holding the festival as important in improving literal works and strengthening of peace culture in the country.
The message which was read out by governor of Nangarhar Attaullah Lodeen considered literature of peace, stability and affection as the main aim, asking all poets, writers and researchers of literature to perform their tasks for maintaining peace and solidarity and preventing war in the country.
Meanwhile, minister of information and culture Dr. Sayed Makhdoom Raheen while pointing out the role of literature in maintaining a peaceful environment in the country supported the festival.
Minister of information and culture in a message which was read out by Jalal Noorani, advisor to MoIC said, “I’m pleased that the eighth national festival of Afghanistan modern literature has been held in evergreen province of Nangarhar, a historic province which has never forgotten literal festival of ‘Orange Flower’.
Such literal festivals are also held in a number of other provinces under the name of famous and beautiful flowers of the provinces.”
Dr. Raheen in his message added, “Fortunately we have gorgeous literature in each language in our beloved homeland and our literature has improved in all sections during the past one century.” Minister of information and culture has further said, “Our cultural society has been loved by our literal-loving people.”
Attaullah Lodeen, governor of Nangarhar in his speech asked all poets and writers to deliver their poems, writings and researches related to peace and solidarity in the country.
In the meantime, messages of various academic and cultural organizations were read out in the festival. Most of pieces of writing and poems delivered by a number of poets, writers and researchers were about role of literature in peace and solidarity.
The festival has ended its work by issuing a resolution as follow:

The festival’s participants on Thursday releasing a resolution asked Afghanistan poets, writers and researchers to echo humanity messages in their works and make efforts towards strengthening the culture of peace than war in the country.
In the resolution, ministry of information and culture and cultural center of Guetta Institute were asked to take step in publishing the delivered articles in the festival. The participants also decided that dramatic literature would be discussed in upcoming festival to be held next year.
On second day of the festival, a number of poets, writers and researchers delivered their poems, pieces of writing, novels and researches related to modern literature and role of literature in strengthening of peace in the country. At the end of the festival, Ibrahim Hotak, director of Guetta Institute to Afghanistan said that it was the eighth literal festival held by the institute in the country. According to Hotak, for addressing the biggest challenges of Afghans, the festival was held this time under the name of literature and peace.
