Kabul (BNA) A commission was formed in a session chaired by Dr. Sayed Makhdoom Raheen, Minister of Information and Culture, for convening a seminar on “Nangarhar in the course of history”.
The seminar is held following a series of seminars by the ministry of information and culture for praising and honoring from the records of academic, cultural and historic figures of the country.
In the session Dr. Sayed Makhdoom Raheen said, “Little attention has been paid to historic provinces of Laghman, Nangarhar and Kunar according to historic studies, while they have enough honors, adding during the Islamic period, Laghman’s people were famous for their talent and wisdom.
Only the names of those religious scholars who were from Laghman are recorded in the history of Baghdad.”
Raheen also briefed related to history of Sadat in Kunar and famous figures of Nangarhar such as Mia Faqirullah and Mullah Najmuddin and added that they were the most honorable figures of the country.
In the session which was held with participation of a number of knowledgeable figures and relevant officials after presenting suggestions and views, Shah Wali Qarar was appointed as head and Abdul Hadi Qurishi as secretary of the commission.
Seminar titled “Nangarhar in the course of history” is to be held at the beginning of spring.
