105 People Killed In Helmand In Two Last Week

Lashkargah (BNA) Security officials of Helmand province said that in two last weeks, 105 people were killed in Helmand province.
The killed people were armed insurgents, state forces and civilians, said officials. 
Colonel Abdul Nabi Ilham police chief of Helmand said to reporter, in the two last weeks in different areas of that province, 8 civilians, 8 policemen and 33 armed insurgents were killed. 
According to Ilham, at the same time 40 civilians and 16 armed Taliban were wounded. 
He said casualties to civilians and polices came out of suicide attacks and numerous roadside mines.
He said casualties to armed insurgents in these operations taken place by police and combined forces in areas of Helmand province. 
The security forces in two last week in Helmand province defused 703 mines and 100 Kg of opium and a number of arms were seized by them. 
Meanwhile 27 farmers were detained on charges of poppy cultivation and hundreds of farms were cleaned from poppy. 
Police chief of Helmand said that police and security forces were promoted from vocational trainings but they faced shortages of equipments.  Translated by Suraya-Yarzada
