President Karzai Visits Muradkhani’s Construction Process

Kabul (BNA) President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai visited the historic Muradkhani area and inspected the reconstruction process there.
During the visit, engineer Hadayatullah Ahmadzai an official with Firozkoh institute which is undertaking the reconstruction work there had briefed the president on the project. 
In line with the presidential order the historic Murad Khani area has been rebuilding with the financial support of US, Canada, Brittan and India and the ministry for urban development. 
The work for the reconstruction commenced in 2006 with old style architecture. 
Murad Khani had been badly damaged during the past three decades of war and only 65 houses had remained standing. 
Engineer Ahmadzai added that Firozkoh institute was able to remove 30,000 meter cubic of garbage from Murad Khani and extend power line there, besides rehabilitation of water system, building clinic and school in the area. 
The president described the project as very important and also visited the departments of Firozkoh institutes and students learning pottery, writing and other professions. 
Presently 120 boys and girls are studying there. 
The personnel of Firozkoh institute at the end of the visit presented a number of gifts including calligraphy and miniaturized to the president.
