Your Morale is Unique: President Ghani Tells ANDSF Personnel

Kabul (BNA) Addressing an event marking the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces Day at the Ministry of National Defense on Saturday, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani called the ANDSF morale unique, adding that Afghanistan was standing due to Afghan forces braveries and sacrifices.

“It is a proud day for Afghan government and nation to honor the security forces. Afghanistan is proudly and powerfully stand due to your braveries,” the president told the security personnel.

The president went on saying that government was supporting ANDSF because that state could not survive without them, adding that equipping the forces were the main priority for the Afghan government.

“All enemies should know that ANDSF are the true sons of this land. They are Afghans and Muslims and believe on Allah and their beloved country,” the president added, saying that soldiers and the generals were playing with death and therefore enemies are afraid of them.

“You have followed a path in six years that other countries could do in 30 years and that is why your way is unique,” the president said, adding that public support to the ANDSF was unprecedented in the last 140 years.

Referring to Taliban, the president said that Afghan constitution has been prepared in line with Islamic principles which is unique in the region, but according to him Taliban’s main is to take power.

“The only way forward is peace. If you [Taliban] are Afghans so you should accept Afghans, but if you do not accept Afghans, then the problem is yours,” the president added, saying that previous year was a challenging year, but ANDSF could defeat enemies and won the war.

The president also criticized international community’s approach towards Afghanistan, saying that Afghans were deprived of their basic rights, which is peace and stability in their country.

Concluding his remarks, the president said that Afghan nation would decide the next president through elections. “We have given sacrifices but would never leave alone our country.

The deputy defense minister Shah Mahmoud Miakhel reiterated the forces’ commitments toward their country and republic in the country, saying that Afghans have given a huge sacrifice with releasing thousands of Taliban prisoners.
