Efforts Underway for Cabinet Formation, Muhaqiq

Kabul (BNA) French ambassador to Kabul, Zhan Michael Marlo met yesterday with Chief Executive Officer’s second deputy, Mohammad Muhaqiq at Council of Ministers Palace, BNA reported. During the meeting, French ambassador to Kabul assured of his country’s enduring commitment to Afghanistan in various sectors particularly, in agricultural sector up to 20 years, expressing hope that the National Unity Government (NUG) would succeed to implement its programs in all sectors. French ambassador also hoped that NUG’s cabinet would be formed prior to holding London Conference, so that the international community would further forces on Afghanistan. In return, Mohammad Muhaqiq said that formation of NUG was Afghan people’s desire and it would make efforts to make the people’s desire true. He added efforts were underway for formation of the cabinet. According to another report, Dr. Zalmai Khalilzad met with Mohammad Muhaqiq yesterday. In the meeting, both sides exchanged views and discussed on current situations of the country. According to another report, presidential advisor, Abdul Karim Barahavi, former governor of Nimroz, Dr. Dastagir Azad, along with senator, elders and influential figures of the province met with Mohammad Muhaqiq.  Participants at the meeting said that the people of Nimroz had active participation in Jihad and resistance as well as supported the government in the past one decade, but unfortunately no considerable intension was paid to Nimroz province. They added that residents of Nimroz themselves are maintaining their security in the province and sacrificed 110 people for construction of Nimroz road and currently more than %100 million incomes collected from the road. Elders of Nimroz enumerated their problems as low presence of experts and human capabilities of the province in the government, not pursuing of development projects and lack of airport in the province, asking for full consideration to development of Nimroz and hoping that the residents of the province would witness their participation in the government’s body. In return, Mohammad Mohaqiq while praising the province’s elders for attending the meeting said Nimroz would be one of developed and good province in the future. Muhaqiq considered Chabahar port as one of the country’s key and big projects, stressing that $300 million was determined to be assisted by China for construction of electricity dams in the country.
