Coordinated Actions Needed To Eliminate Violence Against Women, Prof. Bawari

Kabul (BNA) Ministry of Information and Culture celebrated the International Day on Elimination of Violence against Women here yesterday at the ministry’s press hall, BNA reported.
Addressing the ceremony, Prof. Mohammad Rasoul Bawari deputy minister of cultural affairs and acting minister of information and culture said celebration of the day won’t eliminate the violence against women, asking for further coordinated actions against it. According to Bawari coordinated actions were needed to fight violence against women, adding women should have independent identity, as according to him no works would be done properly without men and women cooperation. Meanwhile Mahbooba Sadat, ministry’s head of gender department said the day was celebrating across the world with the theme: Leave no one behind: end violence against women and girls’.
She went on saying many programs were conducted in the ministry to support women, adding violence against women were not acceptable and would lay negative impact in the society.
At the end the ministry’s in-charge of provincial affairs Wahidullah Mana read-out the message of Minister of Women’s Affairs, saying elimination of violence against women needs joint actions.
