Handicrafts Exhibition Part of Upcoming Nawroz Festival

Kabul (BNA) Officials of Social and Economic Department of the Ministry of Women Affairs (MoWA) have said that the concerned ministry has always strived to serve the people particularly the women and boost their capacity building in various social, economic and political spheres.
The (MoWA) as part of its plans this time intend to conduct a handicraft exhibition on eve of the upcoming Nawroz Festival in Paghman Hill where heads of states from Nawroz zone countries will celebrate next spring’s Nawroz in the same hill. Elaborating on the topic, Ms. Mahrokh Yousafzai, the head of social and economic affairs department of the Ministry of Women Affairs called on the women to display their handicrafts in the exhibition and introduce it to the world, saying that the Ministry of Women Affairs (MoWA) intends to plant saplings in various parts of the city including an educational campaign to persuade the girls to come toward learning who have been deprived of getting knowledge and already the campaign has been instigated in six provinces of the country. The government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan as part of its peaceful policy and frank relations with the world community has undertaken special programs to celebrate next spring’s Nawroz Festival in Paghman Hill with the participation of leaders from Nawroz zone countries. A mega project was initiated in the area which comprises rehabilitation and renovation of ancient palace, construction of park, swimming pool and other ancient heritages. In the meantime, the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation has announced that it will plant up to 12,000 saplings and 20,000 decorative flowers in Paghman hill on eve of 1393 Nawroz Festival. This comes at a time that recently President Karzai in a trip to Paghman Hill monitored the working process on the Paghman Nawroz celebration venue.
