ANA is Capable Enough To Ensure Security: NSC

Kabul (BNA) The National Security Council (NSC) meeting with President Hamid Karzai on the chair was held in Presidential Palace Sunday. 
According to presidential press office to BNA, in the meeting also attended by Corps commanders, the national defense minister expressed his gratitude to the president of the country and commander-in-chief of the armed forces and also praised the ability of the national security armed forces, adding efforts for the further capacity building of the national army is the priority of the defense ministry’s leadership.
Expressing satisfaction over the security transition from NATO-led troops to Afghan security forces, the defense minister said that the fourth phase of the security transition has been successfully completed and the fifth phase of the process is going on. Speaking at the meeting, the chief of army staff presented his report about the capacity and operational ability of the national army and pointed out that the national army is capable enough to ensure security if the presidential elections go into runoff.
