Kabul (BNA) President Ashraf Ghani discussed investment opportunities in Afghanistan with a group of Chinese investors who are interested to invest in generation of electrical energy from coal at the Presidential Palace late on Saturday.
BNA quoting presidential palace reported, the Chinese investors said they were willing to make an investment of 400 million dollars on a coal power plant to have the capacity of generating 300 Megawatts of electricity.
In the meeting, President Ghani articulated potentials of natural resources as well as investment opportunities in energy sector in Afghanistan.
President Ghani instructed Afghanistan Investment Facilitation Unit to make required assessment in this area in coordination with Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat to facilitate investment opportunities for the group and to share the outcome with office of the President.
