More Equipment As 5-Year Security Plan Due To Be Implemented, Official

Kabul (BNA) After more than 14 years, for the first time, the five-year security plan is expected verify all security threats and seek solution, the ministry of defense said the other day.
Spokesman for the ministry of national defense, Brig. Gen. Dawlat Waziri said within the five years plan, the government had assessed all security threats and challenges and had put the solution as a top priority. According to him, the international community was committed to tackle the problems, under the security plan, particularly for the country’s national army, a program, Waziri believed would include revitalization of the country’s air-force, reinstallation of radar-system, handover of the warplanes to the Afghan air-force, reactivation of rocket force and beefing up the artillery and armored systems. Waziri went on as saying, with the soon practical process of the plan, the country’s army would soon be helped find several repairing centers and airplanes, a strategy can help prevent wastage of high amount of money as well as provide self-sufficiency and create job opportunities for the Afghan citizens.
Afghanistan Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Qadam Shah Shaheem has confirmed that the five-year security plan would help stability and security ensured in the country and that in Warsaw, Brussels and NATO summits, “We have to discuss our own security priorities with the international partners.” The country’s national security council (NSC), late on last week, approved a one-year operation plan besides inking the 5-year security plan, under which, Gen. Shaheem noted that Shafaq Operation would successfully go ahead against insurgents, though he acknowledged, some parts of the country were still facing security threats like last year. “In the five-year security plan, the enemy has fully been defined and challenges and threats have been modified with strong and effective measures have been adopted,” according to the National Security Council (NSC). A military expert, Gen. Tofan welcomed the five-year security plan set by the government, a move would help overcome insurgency countrywide, as he believed all challenges and insecurity reasons have been modified in the plan. According to him, the security forces could defeat the enemy last year and would also overcome insurgency under the five years security plan.
Ammir Mohammad, a government critic also said the government might have launched the plan several years ago, but despites this he welcomed the security plan as saying the weak points of the enemy should be identified to could foil their plots prior to be practiced. He asked the security forces of the country to launch effective programs in suppressing insurgency across the country, as the enemy, last year, tried to take control some areas of the country, where they, fortunately failed in their plans. Afghan citizens also accept that the security plan would do more in equipment and training of the country’s security forces through the international partners’ military cooperation. “The enemy would absolutely defeated through the inclusive security plan,” said a Kabul citizen, Fraidoon who lauded the government’s strong morale in war on the militants and added that practicing the security plan would help them further suppress enemy. Walid Ahmad another Kabul citizen said having a strong coordination and firm security plan could help the Afghan forces get success in war on the insurgents and make them accountable for their responsibility.
