Government Launched Electronic Payments of Custom Duties

Kabul (BNA) The National Unity Government has been making efforts to remove the payment system of the custom duties deficiencies, establishing electronic and computerized procedures for the eradication of the corruptions.
With the computerized procedure, the custom duties deficiencies and other shortcomings would be overcome, facilitating the transparency and the reducing of the time period on delivering of currency and other working situations, Gul Maqsood Sabet the deputy finance ministry has told in a press conference. It was said, the system-agreement has been signed between Sabet and Essakhan Terab deputy of the Central Bank. Meanwhile, Najebullah  Wardak  the director general of custom duties said that  will conduct a three months evaluations  in the custom duties departments of Kabul and Hamid Karzai International Airport,  if this was demonstrated  that the new system is working  efficiently, we would develop such system to entire  government’s  organization and other organs  that are involved  in custom duties  affairs  through the country. The commentator believes that the new electronic system in the custom-houses can overcome certain deficiencies including corruptions, increasing the custom duties revenues, the close supervising process would be provided in this system for further transparency.  At the same time certain Afghan citizens have emphasized that the collection of government and trader’s revenues are confronting with corruptions, but it is hoped that with this new system the above-mentioned revenues were gathered in a very effective manner.
