President Ghani, CE Abdullah Saddened By Brussels Explosions

Kabul (BNA) Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan saddened over the deadly explosions hit Belgium’s capital Brussels yesterday, leaving 26 people killed and 81 others injured, his office said in a statement.
Condemning the terrorist attacks the president said, terrorism once more proved that it knows no border and region, the statement further said.
Afghanistan has been suffering terrorism for years more than other countries of the world and the Afghans can feel the pain of the Belgium people, the statement added. Calling the terrorism a common threat to region and the world countries, the president once again emphasized on joint fighting against the deadly phenomenon, the statement continued. The president also sympathized and expressed condolences to the Belgium leaders and the victim families, the statement concluded. Also, Chief Executive, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah flayed yesterday the coordinated explosions targeted the airport and metro station in Brussels city, his office said in a statement. “I strongly condemn the explosions in Brussels. I offer my sympathies & condolences to those affected by these incidents,” Abdullah said, the statement further said.
He said “Afghanistan as a victim of terrorism feels the pain of its allies. We pray for those who lost their lives and loved ones to the terror.”
Abdullah added, such terrorist attacks prove that terrorism is our common enemy and it must be uprooted wherever it derives, insisting that “Terrorism is bound by no law and religion. It is an act against all beliefs, communities & nations all across the globe.” At least 26 people were killed and 55 others have sustained injuries as back-to-back explosions rocked Brussels yesterday. Twin blasts initially hit the Zaventem airport while the Belgian public broadcaster RTBF reported a second blast striking a metro station in the capital shortly afterwards.
The deadly attacks on two key areas in Brussels follows four days after the security forces arrested a suspect participant in November militant attacks in Paris that killed 130 people.
