Dostum Emphasizes On Further Afghan-Russia Ties

Kabul (BNA) First Vice-President, Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum in meeting with Andri Vedov the chargé d’affaires of Russian Embassy to Afghanistan stressed for enhancing diplomat relations between the two countries and also playing proactive role by Russia against production of narcotics and it’s trafficking, BNA reported.
Russian has stood alongside Afghans during resistance and reconstruction process of Afghanistan, the vice-president said, adding Afghanistan wants further cooperation of Russia in the economic field and fighting drug.
Assuring his respective government’s support to Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) and fighting narcotics, the ambassador pointed out his country Russia as a victim of drug and would spare no efforts to overcome drug problems. The ambassador said that Russia would help Afghanistan implement the joint projects.
Russian diplomat also said that Cultural House of Russia after reconstruction would help Afghans in learning Russian language. According to another report, the first vice-president received a delegation of elders and lawmakers from Paktika province at his office the other day and expressed his condolence and sympathy over the terrorist attack in Yahyakhil district which had left scores of people dead and injured.  Speaking in the meeting, lawmaker Katawazi expressed his gratitude to the vice-president over his sympathy with the victims’ families and Paktika residents, saying the main problem of Paktika people is insecurity.
The Vice-President promised to share the security problem with president to find amicable solution. According to another report, a delegation of elders and parliamentarians from Baghlan province called on the first Vice-President and briefed him about the problems in their province including land grabbing.
The vice-president assured the government would do its best in fighting corruption to ensure justice in the society. Lawmakers and elders from Badghis and Nimroz provinces in separate meeting also called upon the first-vice president the other day and informed him about problems in their provinces.
