Govt. Should Be Accountable And Media Professional, VP Danesh

Kabul (BNA) In a three-day national conference to improve awareness in provinces and localities, second vice president Sarwar Danesh said the government was responsible to provide the ground for citizens’ access to information, Bakhtar News Agency (BNA) reported.
He added the country’s media should act transnational and should only be people’s voice, according to the agency.
He called approval of law on access to information, holding media and journalists safety joint committee’s sessions in the center and other provinces, thorough investigation to address violence cases against journalists and the president’s decree in the respect, the opportunities have been made to amplify media and awareness, BNA added.
“Ensuring security of journalists and recruiting expert cadres in different government organs of practical strategies on the way of information and tasked local organs administration in addition to fighting corruption, train the staffs effective behavior methods,” the agency continued.
He also instructed the provincial governors to hold monthly meetings and report the result to center.
The conference was organized by local organs administration and attended by a number of government high-ranking officials at the Intercontinental Hotel.
