Voting Process Formally Begun by IEC Officials

Kabul (BNA) Few minutes ago, voting process has formally started by Afghanistan Independent Election Commission’s officials in Zarghona high school, Kabul city.
Hawa Alam Nooristani head of Afghanistan Independent Election Commission formally has started the process.
A biometric voting system – based on fingerprints – will be used across the country to try to avoid fraud as people cast their ballots.
Hawa Alam Nooristani head of Afghanistan Independent Election Commission yesterday in a press conference said, taking pictures during vote is necessary and all biometric votes are acceptable, non-biometric votes unacceptable.
Mrs. Nooristani added, 445 out of 5,373 polling centers will be closed due to threat of militant attacks across the country.
Meanwhile, Khushal Sadaat deputy on security affairs for Ministry of Interior told, up to 72,000 members of the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces will be deployed on the Election Day to ensure the security of the process, moreover, almost 20,000 to 30,000 forces will be available as reinforcements. 
Mrs. Sadaat encouraged all the citizens to participate in Saturday elections, as Afghan forces will spare no efforts to provide security for the voting centers.
