Maimana City (BNA) For the first time saffron festival was held by agriculture, irrigation and livestock office in northern Faryab province the other day,
Head of agriculture, irrigation and livestock office told BNA correspondent, marketing for producers of saffron and encouragement of farmers for increasing of saffron cultivation is the main purpose of the festival.
For the first time farmers cultivated saffron in 1396 in Faryab province and now saffron cultivating in 326 villages of nine districts in the province, the source added.
It is mentionable that 40 women and 50 men are busy in saffron cultivation in Faryab province, the source concluded.
