Kabul (BNA) Eklil Hakimi, Minister of Finance, during an official visit to Brussels, participated in the meeting of Afghan National Army Trust Fund (ANA Trust Fund) in NATO Headquarter where Jens Stoltenberg Secretary General of NATO, Maj. Gen. Robin L. Fontes, Commander of Combined Security Transaction Command for Afghanistan (CSTC-A), NATO member countries and resolute support mission were present.
In the meeting which was held before the NATO Summit in mid of July this year at its new headquarter; the officials discussed financial support of Afghan Security and defense forces and their needs after 2020.
In addition, Minister of Finance provided information to the participants regarding Afghan Government future plans on increasing exports and decreasing imports to 50% till 2020, implementation of regional projects, extensive reform of Afghanistan’s financial sources and increase in Afghanistan’s contribution to financing security agencies.
NATO members stated that their countries are committed to provide financial assistance to Afghanistan after 2020. Hearing that, Minister of Finance thanked them for their decision.
