Poets, Writers Conferred State Medals on Advent Of Nawroz

Kabul (BNA) In a ceremony held to mark Nawroz, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani conferred state medals of Sayed Jamal Uddin Afghan to 22 writers, poets, literature and culture related researchers for their tireless efforts here the other day, a presidential statement said.
According to the statement, at the outset Prof. Mohammad Hussain Yamen representing others spoke related to culture, literature and the Nawroz Festival in the country.
The president addressing the gathering of poets, researchers and culturists, said that you have worked much for boosting of the country’s culture and institutionalizing of which during the critical conditions. Considering Dari, Pashto and Uzbeki as the important languages of Afghanistan, president Ghani said that he is proud of all languages that have old backgrounds and bright future, adding that local languages should be improved and the local identities are a part of our unique culture. The president said that scientists such as Ulfat, Angar and Ghobar had national thoughts and for extending their thoughts even suffered prisons, but because of them, for the first time democracy was revealed, Hinting to role of writers, poets and researchers in the country, that your role is important because you link the past to future which is very important for the country. President said that a support fund for boosting of literature, cultural and archaeological relics would be established, adding that for the first time relics which reflect our identity would be restored, and meetings would be held to extend the thoughts on long-term developments.
