Kabul (BNA) A group of 15 insurgents surrendered their weapons and joined the peace process in Gosfandi district, Sar-e-Pul province yesterday.
Mir Ali Nadem in charge of Disarmament of Irresponsible Armed Groups (DIAG) said BNA, the insurgents, who were previously fought against government forces in the district joined peace process with their weapons including two rocket launchers, 4 Kalashnikovs and some light weapons.
Abdul Jabar Haqbeen acting governor of the province, Naqibullah head of peace council and many military personnel of the province welcoming the group in peace process, assured that with joining of the group the security will improve in the region.
