Herat Traffic Dept. Reports Over 700 Million Afghanis in Revenue This Year

 

HERAT (BNA): Traffic officials in Herat have reported that they have collected over 700 million Afghanis in revenue since the beginning of this solar year.

Ghazi Zabihullah Akbari, the traffic chief of the province, informed the Bakhtar News Agency (BNA) that there have been 2,100 traffic accidents in the province this year, resulting in 136 fatalities and 700 injuries.

Akbari noted that traffic accidents in the province have increased by 20 percent compared to the previous year.

He also reported that they have issued 20,000 driving permits and 11,000 driving licenses this year.

To reduce congestion and prevent traffic accidents, traffic lights have been installed on several roads, a program that is still ongoing.
