Kabul (BNA) Signing strategic partnership agreements with Finland and Denmark will further strengthen the status of Afghanistan among world countries and indicates that Afghanistan enjoys a special place in international relations.
Commenting on the issue BNA commentator writes:
Hamid Karzai the president of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is visiting three European countries. During the visit he will sign strategic partnership agreements with Finland and Denmark authorities. Signing such agreements with these two European countries that had an active presence in our country has of great importance for Afghanistan and those countries.  Concluding the agreements will set up the relations between Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and those two members of European Union.  Afghanistan has already signed such agreements with a number of countries like India, US, UK, Germany, France, Italy and Australia.  These agreements indicate that Afghanistan is at the focus of international community and they don’t want Afghanistan to once again exercise the crisis in 1990s. What had happened in 1990s in Afghanistan was the result of international community’s carelessness toward Afghanistan which led to the interferences of some neighborly countries for implementing their ambitious and evil goals in the region. These interferences further deepened Afghan crisis that not only caused grave destructions and casualties in Afghanistan but threats the world as a whole.  Understanding the grave situation of the region, the international community played an active role with its military presence in Afghanistan during the last decade. During the decade, the status of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan further strengthened in international organizations and Afghan government persuited an active policy in ensuring good relations with various countries. Through this policy Afghanistan was introduced to the people of the world while earlier during the 5 year rule of Taliban there was a bad image of Afghanistan in the mind of world public.
Although, during the last decade the situation has improved but still the foreign interference continues and terrorism as an exported phenomenon threatens the lives and properties of Afghans. Unfortunately, the international community has failed to end terrorism which has its sanctuaries and safe havens just on the other side of Afghan borders. The foreign aggressions and interferences continue while international forces will end there military presence in the country by the end of 2014. Although the Afghan authorities and people consider the date as a new chapter in their political life, but due to huge volume and open interferences of foreign countries and severe economic problems, Afghanistan is in need of economic and political support of world community. Concluding such agreements mentioned above can be effective in guarantying the political life of this country.
On the other hand, the countries that were present in Afghanistan, have recognized the importance of geo- political location of Afghanistan try not let Afghanistan once again becomes the stronghold of terrorism and extremism that not only threatens Afghanistan and the region but the entire world.
Regretfully it should be mentioned that although Afghanistan has already signed strategic partnership agreements with a number of countries but still has not used the benefits of the agreements, the interferences are continuing as before and terrorists are training, supporting and armed on the other side of Durand Line and sent for launching terrorist and suicide attack in Afghanistan which have grave casualties among innocent civilians and causes wide destructions.  The Afghan people hope, the agreements be practical and to play a significant role in economic growth of the country and ending the foreign interferences and finally let in to restoration of peace in Afghanistan the heart of Asia.
