President Ghani Holds Video Conference With Military Leaders Of Eastern And Southeastern Zones

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani held video conference with the military leaders and commanders of 201 and 203 Corps and reviewed the security situation in the eastern and southeastern zones of the country.
The commanders, besides presenting their reports on the situation, security developments and formation of reserve forces also forwarded their proposals. Similarly, acting minister for defense, interior minister and acting chief of national directorate for security presented their reports on the security situation and suggestions. After listening to the reports, the president congratulated the victory of security forces against militants including Taliban and Daesh in the said zones and said that the government would provide humanitarian assistance to those families in the eastern Nangarhar who had suffered due to Daesh atrocities and are going back to their homes. The president also ordered concerned authorities to assist those families who had suffered due to war in Dand-e-Ghori and Dand-e-Shahabudin of Baghlan. President Ghani also ordered concerned authorities to study formation of reserved forces and deployment security checkpoints in essential places.
President Ghani, according to another report, presided over the meeting of national Security Council here in Arg the other day. During the meeting, security officials presented their reports on the situation in Baghlan, Nangarhar, Helmand, Sar-e-pol, Faryab, Paktia, Paktika and Ghazni provinces. The president after hearing the reports instructed concerned authorities to foil security threats.
